Why Are You Putting Up With BACK PAIN?

I have been chatting to a couple of our client who have been struggling with back pain but who insist on coming to a fitness based class… many because they have been sore and can’t ‘progress’ because their issue is limiting them.

And of course they can do some things and they really struggle with others – yet they want to do the right things but won’t seek appropriate help.

YOU NEED TO SHOW UP AND GET THE RIGHT MANAGEMENT to effect a change that lasts.

Seeking the right help – getting the right information and then moving and doing something different means that you can start changing how your back pain feels.

Taking action and taking the right action means placing your trust in someone who can help you.

But you need really need to look into the reason that you are resistant to that.

What is that that is stopping you from taking that extra step and getting yourself looked at?

Are you comfortable where you are because you know where you are and your body is predictable for you.¬† You may have¬† learnt to adapt and you know what is going on. You know your limitations. You know what you can do. And its been that way for so long that you’ve forgotten what painfree was like……

Have you had poor or bad experiences in that past?

One said he’s never gotten any relief whatsoever where ever he has been… he’s just been sent for tests by his GP and waited for results, then sent for more and waited for results but never really had any relief or answers about what may help him.

He saw a physio years ago – but again has no insight into what was going on with his back and why.

So given his previous experience – why would he trust anyone? Given that he has had ‘no answers’ as to what he may be able to do for himself – he had decided to just put up with it and ‘cope’.

He has brought his MRI results in and just looking at what they show and where he complains of pain – there is really only a small correlation – most of his current issues are not connected to what his scan says.

This is so common – people get told their scan or x-ray shows XYZ and they walk away with a ‘diagnosis’ and a ‘reason’ but not a management strategy.

How do you change minds that there are heaps of ways you can manage that issue so you can change how much discomfort you’re in and it can be fixed and shifted.

You have to have the right management – and if you just keep putting up with things and not addressing them – then things will stay the same and deteriorate even further.

You have the choice to step up and live your best life.

You need to make the decision that enough is enough and you’re ready for something more out of your life… we can’t make that decision for you …but we can get you more out of your life!

You are in control of your own destiny and I urge you to take a step back and really think about – is this how you want to continue to live…

Putting up with pain that you are ‘surviving with’ because you have learnt to work around your limitations…

Worried about putting your trust in someone because you were let down years ago and do not want to take another chance again.

You need to ear that doing nothing – achieves nothing.

Doing nothing means you stay where you are and if you’re happy there and it suits you that’s just fine.

If that’s your choice then you also have to accept that you cant expect to get results if you wont accept help… because that’s really frustrating our end… we KNOW we can help – you just need to step up to the plate and ask for it.

If you want to change things – you have to take that step.

You need to stand in your power and take a leap of faith because going half cocked at it means you have limited results…and that’s why it keeps coming back and why you keep hitting walls and nothing ever changes

I have an ability to be able to help and change lives – that’s what I am in the business of, and you have to want to buy into that notion of changing your life and how you function in order to change your life – just wishing and hoping it changes IS NOT SHOWING UP!

Are you ready to take that leap of faith?

If not – why not – does staying where you are serve you?

If not – is staying where you are more comfy than the unknown.

If not – why not? and if not – when?

what needs to happen for you to view yourself and want something better for you.

Everyone says they want back pain to go away. Everyone says they are sick of putting up with it and everyone says they need to take action and don’t want to live with it any longer.

Yet when you ask – what are you doing about it – that’s when the stuttering starts – because they are not doing anything PRO ACTIVE to change.

And that really is the hardest pill to swallow when you know you can help someone.

When you know that you have the answers they are seeking – yet they continue to come in and day after day complain about not being able to do this and that and what they have to do to accommodate how they move, and how debilitating their pain is as they have to modify how they work, how the go to social events, how they do exercise, yet they don’t seek any active help or intervention because someone 10 years ago didn’t help them or no one said it could be any better.

I know it’s scary – we all have to take a leap of faith – but we also have to way up whether staying where you are is more comfy and safe for you then taking a chance on a better outcome …..

What’s your position?
