Are you blocking your own progress and stopping yourself from being pain free?

domino blocks falling - like pain falling

Do you start something and then find an excuse or create resistance to following it through?

Whether you’re going on a health kick, you want to start a new habit, stop a habit….

We can be our own worst enemy!

And we put that down to our own will power, or our own ability to be accountable to our goal and the steps it takes to get there.

We block our own progress…

If you’re anything like me – I’ll do something for a handful of days – and then fall off the wagon.

And once that happens – depending on what it is – I’ll just give up.

However:

When I’m dealing with clients – my advice is quite different… especially if they give up if they don’t get fully on board.

I KNOW most of us have that reaction… if we can’t do it daily – then we just don’t bother…it all gets too hard and we may fall into the all or nothing category.

With clients – I get them to do stuff they CAN achieve.

It’s all about getting a WIN.

It would be great if you could do this daily – but what about to start – we aim for 3 times a week – and be flexible with when those three times happen,

This way we accept that it’s ok to be flexible – it doesn’t have to happen daily but if it happens 3 x a week that’s great!

Now you have a win under your belt.

How you feel about things is more positive and you haven;t beaten yourself up for not achieving or giving up.

You’re  slowly moving forward.

Now you have that under your belt – you can layer on more.

Similar to diets.

If you want to make more healthy choices – it can be easier to just start small 0 change your breakfast out, or eat more fruits and vegetables within your standard day, rather than throwing out everything you know and having a big overhaul.

For some people – the overhaul works – for others – slow changes they can get used to works better than the big shift all at once.

You need to do you.

There is no one way to get stronger, fitter, move better, have less pain.

THere’s heaps of different ways that can work for you.

You need to do however – WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.

Some of our clients come in for sessions – they like the contact and the motivation they get from others.

Some prefer to have things to do at home and get reviewed.

So I put it to you – if you haven;t been successful in what you want to achieve – whether that’s having a healthier lifestyle, being pain free, functioning and moving better, being stronger or fitter.

That the issue may just be YOU.

You haven’t found what works for you – so you ‘block’ your own progress.

You need to be on board with what you want to achieve and what you want to do.

If you’re not fully on board – it will take a whole lot longer for you to get there..

So

What do you want to achieve?

How does that look for you?

What needs to happen for you to get there?

Would you like our help?

We’d love to help you achieve your goals – it’s what we do well and we have the experience and expertise to be able to offer different options… because one size does not fit all.

And we’ve pretty much seen and heard all the blocks there is and are adept at working around them! 🙂
